In regards to Ingmar Bergman's “The Seventh Seal” I feel people focus too much on the whole chess game with death thing and not enough people are talking about Death literally sawing down a tree to kill a guy on top of it, full-on Looney Tunes style. Veritably, Absolute Cinema, quoth Scorsese.

A very fascinating paper went up on the arXiv today! Jesse Han & El-Badry et al. reanalysed the 21 known 'hypervelocity' stars in the #milkyway. They find strong evidence that the LMC (Large Milky/Magellanic Cloud) has a supermassive black hole at its core! 🤯 arxiv.org/abs/2502.00102

Maybe the in-universe reason for the switch from common nacelle designs in the TMP and early TNG eras to bespoke nacelles for every class in late TNG is the widespread introduction of replicator technology easing the need for standardised components? Extra room to experiment with new approaches.
