I haven't played that game, but I am intrigued at approaching it as a newbie and midwesterner. And if you consider doing a series on games or whatnot, please keep me in mind. I'm generally up for anything midwestern.

I played that game so much as a teenager. I would totally read that book.

One of my crowning achievements in childhood was winning a euchre tournament with my brother when I was like 13.

Consider adding a chapter on the game Rook. It was a trick-taking card game developed because some religious types thought euchre and the face cards too risky.

I’m not a midwesterner, but I am a historian of trick-taking games who teaches a class about trad card games at NYU. Probably not the right person to write the book, but I bet I can help whoever does with some of the contextual research they’d need to do.

we’ll keep me in mind, but of the trick-takers we cover, it’s one I have only an indirect connection to through some of my students, who did grow up with it. Actually, I can think of one or two alumni of that class who might be interested…I’ll ping them when i get home!
