I'm in my 50s and have seen it before. But I have an embarrassingly poor memory, so I often forget the details of movies, books, etc. I'm constantly looking things up. 🤪
Shot over 2 weeks in 1941, it's so timely today that your head will hurt.
Several emigré studio crew and screen workers who fled the Reich are in credited roles.
It's a glorious mess with a solid message: pick the side without nazis on it.
@sarahkendzior.bsky.social has seen this coming earlier than most because she saw this happening in Central Asia and literally studied this process for her degree. Then was horrified to see it happening here. That she wasn’t believed and acted upon is on us.
Been following her from back … she saw the whole shake down coming … while the whole media normalized the crook ‘he’ll be better for the economy’. Keep the fire big Sarah K.
Well, allow me now to be the second to tell you. She claimed the Ferguson uprising in essence astroturfed by Russian Federation provocation efforts. It's disgusting
I've only read two of her books. Where did she describe the Ferguson uprising as a Russian astroturf ploy? I mean, I like to see the primary sources before making judgments. Where do I look for this reporting?
I'm not convinced that Kendzior is enacting this liberal-racist partnership though. Might she have used a better source than The Torch? Yeah.
But the tweet you cite makes it hard for me to know for sure what point she's in the midst of making. It would be unusual for an experienced writer and
When she apologizes for that, and tells us how and why racism led her to demean a grassroots anti-lynching effort- then and only then am I prepared to hear one word she has to say
I've never watched a writer want to be wrong more than @sarahkendzior.bsky.social, while repeatedly being right. I appreciate the weight she has (un)willingly carried in her intellectual life, continuing to warn, research, and write despite the crazy-making reception of her work.
I'm just some European rando who read a couple of your books but I have been thinking about you a lot over the past days, and the intellectual and emotional burden you have been carrying ... I hope you are ok. Sending you a glint of sunshine from the Med.

She sought to paint BLM demos as Russian Federation influenced provocations, and I find that from her to have been quite alarming
