Part of this may be driven by the “silence is complicity” messaging by some on the left. I personally don’t think people need to hear my take on everything, but some may feel that if they don’t make a statement people will notice and call them out

Depends on the way it's done. If it's just weird endorsement style BS, yeah you're right. If it's an argument of actual substance or provides external evidence that folks should inform themselves on and/or hammer Legislators on, then it's about providing options to fight with.

I really appreciate this observation, seems to be a common approach for older people online. (And people with a big following, aspiring to have a big following).
