When we were looking there were so many flippers snatching up homes. We would lose a bid on a $380k home, then see it relisted a month later for $600k and all they did was paint it white and put in ugly grey LVP. I hated them with a passion. Also Zillow and Open Door were doubling prices on homes.
Buying in 2021 was kinda a traumatic time for me. We got outbid by investors paying cash offers constantly, the prices were skyrocketing and each week we had to lower our standards more to find anything in our budget. It just made me even more communist because housing shouldn’t be so hard.
I spoke to some young Communists running a stall in South London (England) on the weekend - and I didn’t hate the ideas overall. But surely Capitalism can’t survive much longer if most people have no capital? But what fills the vacuum is unpredictable.
Eh, it makes them weak. The liberals were always the wiliest foes, because they actually believed their bullshit. Now it’s just hope in the god of the market. The billionaires lost their grip, the lane is open
Exactly! The racial disparity is incredible, too. Jill Filipovic had some reporting that a 30-year old black family was more likely to own their house in the 1920s than a black millennial family is today

The house flippers we bought this house from should be the first against the wall.
Some folks just seem to need the problem, and solution, to hit closer to *ahem* home
The one amazing thing about America is it has a structure and a cultural identity of using social power. It might just pull this off.
But the billionaires do own private armies
