I understand your point . Those places that support Cheeto do not Care about working folks . I think
that we are headed for an ugly recession, and those particular Buisness are going to be hit hard . We , the people need to make a statement.
I understand what you’re saying, but in reality, there are 2 things to point out here. 1 the blackout is against major retailers. 2 it’s one day. *If* the only options locally are maga owned, they will get the message and still be in business after today.
Hell yeah!!
And,
I WILL ENJOY IT!!
If for any instance I need to buy something, I'm planning to post the pictures of the item I bought and the local store where I bought it and tag all the companies I'm boycotting.
I need food but I'll be going to our neighborhood grocery, a small store run by the same family for about 60 years. I've mainly shopped there (occasionally picking up some stuff at TJ's) since the election instead of Target and Whole Foods, which are dead to me. But no TJ's tomorrow.
I get it but with the speed they are dismantling things and our responce is weak if people would just stop for going to work 5 -7 days we have to shut the county down to stop the second coming of hitler this is Genocidal coup in the beginning stages people will start dying
In the 1000s per week when the cuts to Medicaid Medicare snap WIC to start that's from starvation & exposure not including communicable disease one day is nothing compared to what's at stake everyone will lose a family member distant or close but I feel it coming and it's evil
I agree but to do that on a large scale we need to be organized and have the numbers. I think these small protests/blackouts are seeing who has the messaging power and reach to lead us to bigger actions. The 50501 group and General Strike are good follows for info
WHERE ARE THE ORGANIZERS OF THE GIANT WOMEN’S MARCH??
I’m tired of waiting. We need to protest EN MASSE so the country and world will see how many are opposed to Trump and MAGA.
LETS ROLL!!!
I'm not sure that they fully stopped. They might have just gone "not public" about it to avoid boycotts from MAGA or punishment from the Trump administration. Hard to tell. Might need to call and ask them how they go about making hiring decisions.
But also - people have to shop for groceries somewhere (not today) and Walmart and aldi are the only affordable options in many areas. Given the choice between the two, Aldi is the obvious choice.
People won’t protest if it prevents them from basic functions like buying food.
Oh well Aldi sucks anyway. I’m Texan so I have HEB which basically said “we’re gonna proudly keep our DEI polices, don’t shop with us if you don’t like it.”
Call this number -- 1-888-280-4331 -- and push hard for immediate cancellation and prorated refund. You will get it. They can't force you to keep the service for a year.
Btw for those who paid yearly for your Amazon, you can get a prorated refund. Call 1-888-280-4331 and push hard for immediate cancellation, with prorated refund. You will get it. I did. I would have been happy with just immediate stop of service.
Nope, because doing this for one day is a meaningless gesture that doesn't accomplish anything and not a single company will care if everyone just goes back to buying from the the next day, just like the amazon blackout day.
You need to participate less in rampant consumerism every day.
Yes. Also, I've only been buying only essentials since the election. Not giving corporations or billionaires my money. I'm lucky. Never have been big on buying lots of stuff.
I don't buy much of anything that often, so I won't be making a dent on Friday. Even if I was already planning to, I'm staying home all day Friday. I'm with you in spirit!
It’s too many companies who removed their diversity protections. The complicity is real and even though it’s unconstitutional to discriminate the SC will support this agenda
Comments
Is it okay to shop at MAGA owned local business?
How would I be impacting employees who really need the hours but get sent home due to business being slow?
When the consumer is in a heavy MAGAfied area, what are their choices?
Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

It's not a chain... Or not a big chain at least. Local at best.
I was supposed to get my wages deposited yesterday(I live paycheck to paycheck), but die to an outage at the payment processor, it will arrive today.
I HAVE to buy groceries today, as my fridge and cupboards are completely empty.
Not an option.
Not when you have to work today, and your job involves cycling 60-70km.
Only local small businesses if needed. We got this!
And spend time instead writing positive messages and notes to Fed Friends on Fridays
