I love riding light rail but can you imagine all the transit Seattle could build with $7b and be better than a stub line from SODO serving 3 stations in West Seattle? Accelerating Ballard Link would be far better.

I may have my own issues with the design of WSLE, but saying that what you claim is *definitively going to happen* is very misleading.

Rethink the Link wants the project not built at all, and that’s just not what the majority of people want.

The ST Board could easily put WSLE on hold and proceed with Ballard and even upgrade RR in WS as ST3 had promised as a first step.

It’s just not happening, nor is there money for whatever the favored other thing we should be doing is at the moment.

There is money for this, the alternative is no or very little improvement.

Ballard was scheduled for 2035, now 2039. WSLE cost has already pushed out the timeline for Ballard during the "realignment". Now the cost has doubled again, that will push out Ballard further. ST has not been forthcoming about how to pay for this but they are bumping against their debt limit.
