To get through transportation committee today, the Mosquito Fleet Act is losing its grant program. Unsurprising given the state budget crisis, and that would leave the additional tools for local transit agencies to fund foot ferries themselves.

The Mosquito Fleet Act, reforming state law allowing transit agencies to operate foot ferries and establishing a dedicated state fund to pay for capital acquisition and operations, isn't yet scheduled for a committee vote. This Friday is the deadline.
