I bike past their building on my way to work, and there are frequently unhoused folks taking shelter on the bike trail under the bridge right before Burgermaster. People *already in* that area need permanent supportive housing, no matter what delusion people like Mistele are laboring under.

And guess what - I’ve had way more unpleasant encounters with inattentive drivers in Teslas and fancy SUVs on that stretch where the bike trail is interrupted than with *any* of the folks taking shelter under the bridge. I know, we’re all shocked.

People who live in permanent supportive housing aren't homeless anymore, nor is the place they live a "hotel," and news outlets choosing to use this language are amplifying right-wing framing. Additional context: the La Quinta project is King County's, not Kirkland's.
