Cities are meant to stop traffic, until they built freeways through their hearts.

WTF KIRKLAND? So this is definitely a non-standard sign... But also, WTF. If I was a Kirkland Resident I'd be showing up in City Hall demanding this be taken down.

To any Traffic Engineering and Data Science friends, consultants or agency staff, lets just remember this when we recommend data sources for our studies from now on.

The TRB is responsible for some of the research that informs the innovations in our transportation network, but not all of it. ITE and NATCO have surpassed the FHWA when it comes it comes to best practices because they have actually suggesting changing the way we practice.

O, while you live, tell truth and shame the devil!

This is amazing! I love that I get deliveries by Bike in my neighborhood in Seattle, and I love that I can do my shopping by bicycle as well. Moving cargo and goods is an essential function of our transportation system, and micro-freight is happening! Glad to see it happening by bike in Portland!

I hate to post about national and international politics. Not because I wish to ignore it, but because I don't think I have more to add that we aren't already being bombarded with. This deserves sharing, though. open.substack.com/pub/robertre...

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA. Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps. Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems. See how this works?

As someone that has poured hours (and 1000's of my client's $$$) doing studies and models to support transit on WSDOT corridors, it's refreshing to see they are finally allowing rapid transit on state highways.

Oh man... Now I have a whole new arsenal for people parked in Bike Lanes or blocking curb ramps.

Love this!

It's not true. There are some that do. There are some that want bad things for themselves because they truly believe they will be good things. But my entire social and professional circle is filled with people who work to make life better for others, not themselves.

LGBTQ federal workers say they're terrified they're about to be fired for their gender identity, sexual orientation, or past efforts to support other queer and trans employees—in other words, a second Lavender Scare. Honored to have their trust with this story: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

What @typewriteralley.bsky.social hasn't said here is how many local agencies, Cities like Seattle, are depending on that funding for projects supporting and around the new ST3 lines. This funding is not just for transit. It's for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, too.

I for one am happy to be finally recognized as the dire threat that I am.

Focus on the change you can create. Destroy the peteopatriarchy! Ride a bike.

My lab group is doing a research study on cargo bike users in North America. If you are a cargo bike user and have a minute to take the survey we'd love to hear from you. Or please feel free to share or repost for other cargo bike users. Many thanks! pennstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...
