A year ago people said it was hyperbolic to suggest they might try to take rights from trans people. My point is actually that action is needed now. We can’t afford to wait and think elections will come and save us. I’m sure a lot of Germans from the 30s also assumed “it’ll never come to that.”

That line of thinking is also very foolish but I don’t think that based on the pushback I’ve seen, people are just hanging back and waiting either. We’re already starting to see positive results from pushback too. I just find unfounded doomerism to do more harm than good, especially in public spaces
