I love wolves! My wife and I were backpacking and decided to sleep outside, without our tent so we could see the stars. Late at night, we began hearing a wolf pack in the distance howling. Their calls echoed between the mountains and got louder and louder. The entire pack came our direction. 1)
The pack came into our camp and ran all around us. One came over and looked me in the face from about 12 inches. After a few minutes they left, running off in the opposite direction from which that came. It was a long time ago, but I have never forgotten. Exciting is an understatement. 2)
Or if they're the oldest or most influential. Though if theyre catastrophically bad at their job, it doesn't matter how strong they are. The rest of the pack will take them down. Like those chimps who ate their leader. Or that wolf family who killed the oldest sister becuase she kept killing puppies
Yep, the more accurate version of the meme would be, "Animals would not let the most inept lead twice". Because they ain't *surviving* after the first fuck up
Animals don't behave like men,' he said. 'If they have to fight, they fight; and if they have to kill they kill. But they don't sit down and set their wits to work to devise ways of spoiling other creatures' lives and hurting them. They have dignity and animality.
Animals are so much smarter, kinder, more compassionate, more loving & have more of a connection with each then we do…we can learn so much from them. Be kind, caring & loving towards animals…💕🦋🌻

Well, for one thing, they don't kill each other, except for food. And they don't kill each other's children the way humans do. And,if they could vote, they likely wouldn't vote for somthing as vile as Donald Trump. The sins of humans are not shared by animals
Dolphins drown other dolphins too young or weak for "fun" all the time. Male lions coming into a Pride after battling the local make kill all the former "king's" offspring.
Look up the the pecking order enforcement of snow monkeys in regards to hot springs.
Yes. I do not think the natural world is benign. We are brought up on sentimental animal fiction and morality tales. Survival is often dependent on competition for scarce resources but society benefits from cooperative strategies. I don’t want a “dog eat dog” model for human social behaviour.
Nor I. I agree that we sentimentalize the lives of animals. And... While not sapient the way we are I'm at this point I believe that their "inner lives" absolutely can include "cruelty" as well as "affection".
Did y’all know that the pack when in transit goes in this order?:
1. The more veteran alpha projects
2. The mothers and young
3. The elderly
4. The young adult wolves
5. The alpha
Humans are animals. And other animals often don't choose their leaders. The leader is usually the parent of the other pack members or the oldest or the strongest one. It can also be a dumb one.
Trying to fight my autism to go into a tangent about a group of primates who had a a leader who was not the smartest, but was the strongest/parents were the leaders before it.
The smartest one who remembered where the spots to eat were, was bottom ladder. It was an interesting documentary
I'm a technocrat who believes the intelligent should lead, not those with charisma... But I've realized the intelligent generally don't lead because we know that we'll be abused, we'll be hated, we'll be hurt and destroyed for saying the truth. So we guide outside of leadership roles...
Hi, I’m Collins. I’m starting a 4 year project to track certain metrics we tend to use as indicators of being a successful country. These are not all inclusive and don’t reflect my values. It’s just the few data points I could easily find from consistent sources. Any feedback is welcome.
Been saying it for decades humans should not have been the dominant species of this planet, I can't imagine a lizard Donald Trump would last very long. The moment he started talking about grabbing neonates by the cloaca someone would have just ran up grabbed him by the neck and ripped him apart
There is a cool website, sheepdog-training.com. They have about 30 dogs at any given time, and they say that the dogs choose a leader somehow by consensus. There is no fighting to see who is the strongest; they just somehow quietly decide.
Damn right! I'm not deleting my Twitter account, but I am purging it entirely (and by hand). I want to monitor the threats potential members of Dump's cabinet are already making.
My POV is that humans don't do it either. Because if we think about it, our governors are smarter than most of the people who support them, because if you consider that governor is dumb, whoever supports them is even more dumb, because at least the governor gets well paid for being dumb.
As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Remember when Nikki Haley was running against Trump in the primaries, & her husband, fed up w/ Trump’s misogynistic insults of her, posted this very same saying about Trump?
Wonder how Nikki’s husband feels about her crawling back to grovel at Trump’s feet…?
There are diverse environments and evolved/ adaptative behaviours.
Trump is the product of an environment that rewarded dominant primate behaviour sheltered by wealth from consequences. Social creatures compete but grotesquely unequal societies produce greedy status obsessed monsters .
We are animals. Humans are not unique in cruelty and stupidity. We merely have more ability to make it everything else's problem. In times like these, unity and solidarity with like-minded people is the only thing that can carry us, the working class, and our kids to the tunnel's distant light.
Animals allow any member to challenge leader to make sure they are qualified. If leader fails, then leader becomes omega (at back), or any member can be completely expelled. That is if they are not killed in the attempt.
Humans are animals. Primates. Descended from great apes. We just happen to be the dumbest, cruelest, and only greedy malicious and malevolent one of all animal species.

Why so many dead wolves in one place?
They saw dying animals trapped in the tar & thought it would be an easy snack- only to get caught themselves & end up part of the growing mass of tar.
People make Myths.
I think the more pertinent & accurate take is:
"Evolution favors social cooperation, where the wisdom-of-the-many aids survival."
Dumbest-leader packs tend not to survive (!)

Which, in my opinion, really hammers home the point that willful self-deception and misinformation is a uniquely human trait
