We retired here permanently and we will be looking at property in the DelMarVa in February. My neighbor voted for the Mass Deportation Now guy and put a Nativity Scene in their front yard. I just can't respect these folks and I certainly question their judgement.
I think spraying someone with insecticide would probably land you in the pokie but I think you could get away with spraying them with pepper spray and feel safer about not going to jail for assault with intent to do bodily harm. 😉😊🤭

I had ‘unfriended’ a long time friend who is a trump supporter…I had second thoughts and reached out with an olive branch and then had a third thought, can I be in the same room with that person without a curled lip and the feeling of disdain? No I can’t, so I won’t. Olive branch retracted.
I dropped a thirty year friendship. It wasn't the fact that she and her husband supported the melon felon, it was all the horrible horrible things they said about our President and party. They had no proof, but because DonOld said so, it was true. I chose peace over friendship. Sorry, not sorry.

She said, literally, trump gets in and everyone will be richer, the economy will be the best and all the prices will go down. I told her I disagree and don’t want to see people locked up.

I have some very innocent people in my circle (i.e. an example being the sweet, super helpful p.c.a for my disabled son) who voted for Trump. He was fed disinformation by friends, & he locked onto it. I can't hold it against Joe because he really is a great guy, just misinformed by FOX Spews fans.
Trump-supporters are people who put themselves into a miserable life and can't accept that other people found happiness. They victimize the effect from their own actions and blame it on others. Trump has become their mass-delusional savior!
I can't respect them either, but if I see there is a pure heart behind them, I want to help guide them to open their hearts and mind's. I have learned before where to draw the line.
See that's the catch. We "Thought" we knew them. I thought my influence with my niece left her smarter, with a well developed thinking process. She voted Trump in 2016. I left the state and all my Red hat relations. I thought I knew her. I didn't. She voted Trump 2020 and 2024. More than done

Having a hard time w/this too. I know a lot of people who voted for him....many I've known my entire life & they have always seemed to be kind, good, respectful people. Now I look at them & wonder "Is there something in you I never new about? Who are you really?" Feels like a massive betrayal.
If we are hoping to preserve our democracy, then the challenge is not to respect them, but to stop short of despising them. Now, if we are planning for an all-out civil war, then the opposition must be dehumanized in order to obliterate it. Do we really want to go that route?
We need to stop pretending there are 2 options, and that we can't do anything. What we need is maybe to create a party that isn't morally corrupt or stagnant, or use our constitutional powers to rebuild a goverment For the present for people by the people.
