Nicholson’s performance in Warren Beatty’s REDS is one of his finest. Subtle and deeply felt. He only has a few scenes, but it makes me long for a whole film about this great, complicated artist and the times he lived in.

Probably only film depiction of O'Reilly, yeah? Love the rehearsal scene in Povincetown for Moon of Caribees when he says "Tell her not to stand in the way of the moon."
Oh, she's BRILLIANT. They ALL are. It's a Nicholson performance we forget in the midst of his later "less subtle work." We forget just what a remarkable actor he is.
