I fear Trump confused Rare Earths with Critical Materials. UKR has little or no rare earths but is rich in materials such as Lithium, Titanium, Graphite and Cobalt.

Aeronautics, Electrification, Nuclear power plants require these materials.

Rare earth metals are not actually rare. One of the primary reasons they are so readily produced by China is due to lower environmental standards. If you don't give a shit about the mess you make or how many people you poison, then suddenly all sorts of dirt can be redefined as a "mineral deposit"

Read the small print on the graph. It only includes 15 lantanides. Lithium, titanium, graphite and scandium are not lantanides although they are strategic minerals.
