Marx's description of the French revolution of 1848 and the resulting liberal alliance with the Party of Order to better align with rural attitudes of urban chaos leading to the reinstatement of a reactionary government of known morons is more predictive than anything Stancil has ever said.

The point is that if you can’t predict things like individual elections, assassinations, wars, whatever, then you can’t predict history even in broad strokes, because grand-scale historical outcomes turns on those events.
