@normative.bsky.social Sorry, but no. The institutions may have failed, but ultimately it was the voters who failed, they're who pulled the lever for DT, at the last line of defense. They failed to require common decency as a prerequisite for the presidency. Nah, it wasn't just the institutions.

When a marketing campaign fails miserably, do you blame the customers? No. You blame the product and the people responsible for selling it. You're right, it wasn't *just* the institutions that failed. It wasn't *just* the republicans or the democrats. As the title says, it was everyone.

While I appreciate your analogy, I'll maintain that voters are not the same as customers, any more than SCOTUS or other institutions are retailers. Had the article cited voters along w/institutions I would have had no beef, but failing to at least include voters made it flawed as analysis
