So. Using that kind of thing for textbooks is terrifying to the textbook grift. So. Imagine that terror spreading to every commodity on the planet. It’s a pet theory that this is why, from VHS tapes on, things didn’t get the equivalent of an ISBN number.

I'm going to piggy-back on this lovely story and publicise my own search for a long-lost book! This was a history of Jaguar cars, published in the early 1960s (I guess), a thin volume, quite a large landscape format, with a black-and-red cover. A couple of incidents I remember from the text ...
