Man, I was wondering if that was one of the ones they were still moaning about. Can't say I'm terribly shocked. Folks don't seem to realize the NSO selection is, like, 95% populated with games nobody is inclined to monetize more overtly in that moment. Demanding Mario RPG *now* is just delusional. 😵‍💫

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Square Enix would have to sign off on it, and they just aren’t gonna do that. I do get the frustration over the missing Pokémon games, but I love the variety and weird stuff we keep getting.

Issues with the NSO library aside, they unbelievably put out Fire N Ice/Solomon no Kagi 2, which bought them a ton of goodwill from me.

At this point all that's left feels like it's been so lost that it's probably far out of Nintendo's hands. Like IIRC Lufia 2/Estpolis Denki 2 never even got a JP VC release and that's pretty much been the most visible gap I can think of that didnt get a modern collection or remake for like the rest.

You people already have Umihara Kawase without having to fork out $60 for a real copy like I (happily) did. As far as I'm concerned, the SNES collection doesn't need any more games added to it and any of you out there still complaining about a perk no other console service is offering deserve this.

Two addendums to this thread:

1. I forgot some PS+ subscriptions include PS1 and PS2 games, too, but can you blame me when Sony hardly remembers, either?

2. You're allowed to bug NOA about one NSO issue and that's how they could put out DK94 without emulating the Super Game Boy. Simply heinous.

Yeah, if I'm being serious, I also think there's still a chance that support will get properly implemented since they clearly do tinker with the emulators in the background. Just... what a wild thing to put THAT game out specifically and then drop the ball on the headlining feature it was sold on. 😵‍💫

It's not an exaggeration when I say that if I have a "one fear" shirt when it comes to game loc, it's any of those big boy KT strategy titles. Every time another localization for one of those sneaks out into the world undetected, I breathe a sigh of relief knowing it wasn't me that took the fall.

(That said, as much as my first instinct would be to point KT towards more deserving translators who know the franchise better, if an email landed on my desk asking me to work on OG Angelique, *I* wouldn't say no. That it's 2025 and Ruby Party stuff still goes unloc'd is truly mind-boggling.)
