This upside-down notion—that if an elected politician commits crimes in office, it’s undemocratic to hold them accountable—is a big part of why America is in this mess.

No, winning an election does NOT grant permission to break the law.

Yes, following democratically enacted laws is democratic.

Earlier today, Gov. Hochul was asked whether she's considering using her power to remove Eric Adams as mayor.

" That does not feel like something that's very democratic," she said. "That's why I'm not going to go there."
