PSA‼️NEW SCAM GOING AROUND ON TWITTER
They nearly got my ass because it was from a mutual, but I got suspicious so I made sure to look into it before contacting anyone.
If you get a DM like this, IGNORE AND BLOCK
I'm sad that I had to block my moot;; but ill unblock once they get it sorted out..

Also, an IP lock is utterly pointless to mention at this stage, because that implies this is above a standard account suspension which false reports wouldn't trigger.
I got two from two different people a day apart.
I told them I didn't care if my Twitter died and they stopped interacting lol.
Thankfully, most of them got sus about that and dodged the bullet. So you're not the only one not to fall for it.
as if...most people on steam dont already share same profile pictures cause you can get them on the shop ...
I hate scammers
Or that it's harder to track an account via a picture as every game going through Steam's client would link to the profile directly, and not to the victim of the spoof. You'd have to spend far longer to manually search rather than just even going through recent players.
So was it the case that your mutual got hacked and then you got the message?
oop
scammers using old tactics with new words.
I legit remember this EXACT TACTIC being used on Steam.
Stay safe ya'll and remember: BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK till the waters calm down on a hacked accounts end!!!
> Remember that if there was really an issue, the team would contact tou you FIRST
> Reports do not authomatically ban your acc, they just warn the team to check on you
> They use stolen accs to act
There's also no way to "unreport" things, either.
Glad you at least didnt lose anything here!
