I asked for a raise at work and was denied. I put a year worth of extra work into delivering, spent several months crafting the one pager that outlined the request for additional compensation, and got told that it just wasn’t the right time. I’m kinda digesting how sour I feel about that.

If you have to ask for a raise, you're probably not in the right job., or with the right place.
A good boss will fight for and take care of their people. Your part is to make yourself an asset worth retaining.
My advice next time is to negotiate periodic reviews and/or raises when you're discussing employment terms.
That way both parties know what to expect.
Good luck.
Nope. Time to move on when the ceiling was too low for my expectations.

It's universally applied to all situations.
So I asked for a raise. They said no then asked me to train the replacement for the idiot that got the raise AND take over his work until they hire
I started looking that day. Gave my notice 11 days later.
After I left 4 others left and then the whole department got reorg’d.
But you should know...
..we're all watching.
I can also share my life is fucked up story, but if you're not up for reading about someone else's misery, I won't take offence if you ignored it!
