Periodically I am reminded that for a significant percentage of the loudest voices in journalism, commentators and assorted punditry, COVID was simply an "inconvenience" that changed the balance of their daily lives, not a mass disabling and lethal disease that devastated millions.

Not what you lost.
Journalists who died or became severely disabled don't write articles!
Journalists who got lucky and had very mild cases write stupid articles saying there was no danger.
There were no bullets hole in cockpits or engines because planes shot there all crashed!
…that HAS and STILL IS disabling millions.
Let’s not try to put it in the past tense. It is still a present danger.
If something can’t be stated in terms of money, it doesn’t have value. Moral bankruptcy.
But there is something wrong with our culture (in Canada as well). We do not recognize that we may become disabled at any moment. Further, we do not treat seriously the plight of disabled peoples in our countries.
But for the damage wrought by COVID:
- My doctors test orders are routinely refused by provincial guidelines (the province won't pay for tests related to long covid - ones with peer reviewed evidence.
I got refused a disability nutrition supplement because I didn't have proof of brain damage from covid. But the province won't pay for the MRI for the brain damage.
It's selfishness and a lack of empathy too, but I think it comes back to inherent eugenic beliefs at the core.

Ppl don’t forget
Idk what u mean by mask attacks
Covid hit everyone hard here not just bwy actors
Remember mass graves & refrigerator trucks
That shit was all Trump’s fault he left NY to scramble & said it’s a blue state problem
Other attacks on masking in NY are here: https://www.nyclu.org/resources/know-your-rights/your-rights-to-wear-a-mask-in-public-in-nassau-county
Point is, they aren't acting like they remember.
Do u live here?
I mean no offense but that doesn’t reflect my experience having lived here through all of it & currently living here where I don’t know anyone who refuses to mask. Some ppl still wear medical masks but it’s a personal choice
