One of our best memories of our cruise was sitting with Sandro and other passengers in the atrium just composing a new song. We made up lyrics and he made up chords. It was a blast.

Amazing thread and a lovely tribute. Sandro & Ouannii are still with us more than a year after we voyaged. That gentle storytelling was so special and made the Halcyon inclusive and accessible to a wider group of passengers. Yet another groundbreaking aspect of that incredible place. 👌💙💛

What makes his music unique in the canon of diegetic Star Wars music is that some of it was co-written by the passengers on each voyage, making the songs different each time. Guests got to help Sandro out with the lyrics, and he would incorporate their suggestions into his performances.

That means there is no canonical form of each song, which is probably part of why they weren't released on the Galactic Starcruiser album. They're all "from a certain point of view". Early on, Sandro helped the passengers write a song to welcome Gaya to the Starcruiser. (I haven't been able to find a video of this one yet.) Sandro also performed solo compositions, which I think did not change much from voyage to voyage.
