I’m an atheist and I dunno, I think it’d be equally accurate to say that the critical thinking skills developed by close reading of religious texts is a good inoculation against conspiracism while the kind of smug self satisfied atheism practiced by Dawkins et al creates real vulnerabilities to it
Nailed it. People who believe in a god causing an apocalyptic scenario to take them to heaven should NOT be in charge on ANYTHING because they will see shit going wrong as divine and kill us all. Please see “Current US timeline”
Not just ideas without evidence, but absolutely insane, nonsensical ideas that are complete and utter bullshit. A 600 year old man builds a boat that can hold multiples of every species on the Earth, with enough food for a year? Please...
its almost as if its intended to bait them to vote for them hmmm like an email scammer purposely making spelling error to increase the success of the scam 🤫
This literally goes for every bloody religion.
Someone else not following your religious teachings and telling you to shove off - they are persecuting you for your faith.
There’s also been a very long, concentrated effort to paint science as the antithesis to religion itself. That one can’t be of faith and also “believe” in science.
A conspiracy theory means to question the official version.
The trained part is actually training people to associate the term conspiracy theory with only ridiculous things so you dismiss questioning and always listen to authority.
I've seen many Dems as brainwashed as Repubs on reverse sides.
Yes, yes, yes I've been saying this very thing, nearly verbatim, for years now. The time has come for non-believers to have a voice. We've let them tell us their beliefs are sacred and therfore can not be challenged long enough. They've done enough damage. It's time to speak up.
I don’t like the word conspiracy theorist, it’s a word the cia created to discredit those that ask questions. Someone who believes 0 conspiracy theories is just as dumb as someone who believes ALL conspiracy theories. The truth is somewhere in the middle
