Anti tax avoidance schemes are welcome but they should not be supplemented by punishing the most vulnerable people in the country. These cuts are not only cruel they are cowardly and the approach is so short term it won't generate any growth. You need to tax the richest not the poorest.

What needs to be done is a complete overall for the 21st century the whole system of tax & benefits. The public are being given information from all sides & what we need are clear frameworks eg WFA clear agreement pensioners over an agreed amount don’t receive benefit & fix systems to resolve that.

We are told it’s too expensive to filter so it’s one size fits all. As a society we need to agree who is vulnerable, eg blind CEO is eligible for PIP, so do we agree disability = PIP but earnings/assets mean a £0 payment. Why are high earning over 67s not paying NI ? There are so many more issues.

Fascinating but not surprising as a former Labour member I am disgusted at these draconian cuts to PIP and foreign aid all for the sake of fiscal rules that serve no purpose in this economic climate and will no doubt change due to Trump's Tarrifs anyway. Nye Bevan would be turning in his grave.

Tell that to disabled people or families with disabled children who will now lose their PIP payments. I'm sorry it's not click bait I wish it was it is actual Labour policy and not only that these draconian cuts went even further than planned to PIP. It's a big mistake by Labour on every level.

The work and pensions secretary said eligibility for Pips, which starts at £72.65 a week, (which is nothing any) would be tightened from November 2026. Applicants having a score of 1 to 12, reflecting difficulties with daily activities Imagine having this looming over you it's not fair on people.

I've seen with my own eyes the parts of the green paper that clearly say you must get a 4 in one of the sub sections.

I got a bunch of twos, and will now lose £300 every month.

I'm 52, live alone now, just trying to stay alive and be a human.

This removes that.

The People and The Government are now Consulting on the Subject. I'm stating my side, and have to my MP.

But only a few MPs have said they would vote against this.

So it would pass, and then be law.

👍 I was listening to her harsh 'handing it down' rhetoric yesterday reminded me of Maggie Thatcher, maybe she was channelling her best Maggot Thatcher, I'm convinced she should walk across the floor to the other side, she is certainly not what I would recognise as a member of the Labour Party.
