yeah if we say don’t worry about it it’s probably because we know youre only going to put on the gappiest surgical mask in existence that keeps sliding down your nose, and at that point, why bother? the germy aerosols are coming out anyway.

Counterpoint: if the person's already been in the same space for several minutes, and doesn't have a proper mask with them, why bother. Yesterday, a woman in my workplace donned a baggy blue after 5 mins, then took it off a few min before leaving. 🤦🏼‍♀️

This is a good operating procedure. And I should let anyone mask that asks me. I mask with the assumption that all rooms had someone sick in it for the last hour(s), but any masking I can encourage might help an unknown someone else.
