Probably a money grab. Prisons are forcing inmates onto tablets with overpriced ebooks if they want to read, in a new nickel-and-diming scam.

Actually not this time. They are on tablets for mail, but can still have books. But they have to buy them with their own money basically from commissary. And only what they carry. It's just punitive. Hoping it gets reversed.

I think people can still send them to the prisons after this, just not to individuals. But it's important for people to have this outside connection and things they can call their own.
