As someone who has had the chance to serve on a Head Start advisory board this is devastating. The state I lived in required parents to provide volunteer hours to the program which I saw as both a positive for the kids and parents who spent time together and for the communities served by it.

You're right, closing down Head Start & other govt funded childcare is in Project 2025. It's intended to necessitate the mom stay home w/the kids, 'step back' fr the workplace.
