I wasn't questioning their entire process, only interested in the math, which I expect to involve a series of probabilistic simulations, the N-body problem, and a set of orbital parameters that led them to a given number. These are things I can easily solve for and was willing to verify for myself.

Other than that, we're cool and I have utmost respect for what people at NASA are doing, but the sudden bump in their estimations made me suspicious. It has nothing to do with NASA, the integrity of their workers, I am just trained to spot unusual patterns and this was one of the cases.
