I'm about to make @graphicn8.bsky.social very happy and say that upon replay and at least so far, Mega Man 7 is my current favorite Classic Mega Man. It just has a great mix of fun level design, great sprites, and a nice bit of bite during the Wily Castle. It's been a fascinating revisit. - ThreadSky

I really need to revisit the rest of the classic series sometime. Tried a few of them over the years, but going through the Game Boy games on NSO this year has me wanting to go back and actually finish the series.

It's been so interesting playing everything by release order rather than sticking to the different series. It really shows just how all over the place these games were. And yet, I'm not sure if they exactly informed each other. Game Boy had a shop long before consoles.

The thing I love about mega man 7 the most is its exploration! There are just so many items you can find throughout the stages, I love it, it's why it's my favorite classic megaman game!

It’s a fantastic game with a beautiful art style. Really wish they could have squeezed one more game out with that shared look before moving on to the PSX sprites. Its only real flaw is the absolutely brutal end boss.

I’m the same! I think mega man 11 would be up there but I have more inclination to go back to 7 cuz the graphics and music are clean, the bosses are fun, and it felt like the first real jump in quality for the series.
