There are more than enough great American engineers & scientists to staff Space X & Tesla, but they are already working elsewhere. Elon just won’t increase compensation levels & improve the working environment (AKA, free market competition) at his companies enough to attract them to work for him.
Leon wants a golden H1B program because he wants to staff his companies with indentured servants who do not have the rights of Xitizens. Indentured servants who can be deported for any reason at any time. and then cheaply replaced.
Seriously, who does Musk or MAGA think will harvest our food for us if not immigrant labor? In that regard, they are far more valuable to society than Musk and his “skilled labor” visa will ever be.
