As someone who does tech stuff I lament the death of forums. With all social media platforms there's no way to search for the good knowledgeable conversations people have anymore.

That person who had the same problem as you five years ago asked about it on some discord you'll never find now.

I also miss them! And, Discord forums are so ephemeral, they just evaporate if anything happens to the server or you leave it.

I also miss the searchability of forums. It used to be easy to find stuff, now the top 3 pages of search results are all paid or SEO-hacked to the point of uselessness

And easily accessible! Discord servers are great for discussion but if you don't know they exist or they're closed to any new members, you'll never find them.
