Mark Carney cancelled the consumer carbon tax because it was too divisive at time when Canadians need to be united.
Pierre Poilievre is lying to you. Together, we can still fight climate change and grow our economy by making big polluters pay.

Sometimes leaders step up and make the right call rather than selling out for votes. Carney just wanted the votes and he doesn't even have the substance to admit it.
Great start!
Calling it divisive was an admission that this is political. He didn’t say it wasn’t working, but it’s not a hill to die on. It’s a policy- it’s not the only policy.
I think I’d prefer PP die on the hill- as people were sick of him making everything about the carbon tax
So now that the carbon tax is out PP may use another Trump issue and run on taking away trans rights.
Is that too divisive an issue? Will Carney be caving to the conservatives on that one as well?
How conservative will Carney get to win?
I don’t interpret it as ignoring the reality of needing to tackle climate change.
Conservatives need to do that too- and Poilievre was lying to Canadians about that.
Unintended consequences.
That's evil.
