I guess Putin is a bit distracted at the moment and can't send the fighters with chemical weapons....but then, Assad has some of his own stockpiles of chemicals still...and not afraid too use them on his own people; just as Trump would not hesitate to use such weapons on the American "Enemy within".
I watch various YouTube channels, but am concerned of an echo-chamber effect. Beau of the Fifth Column tends to cover issues that sometimes get skipped. They’re short videos, now hosted by Beau’s wife, “Belle.”
Hopefully, the Belarusian citizens will get some ideas after watching the Syrians. This is an opportunity for all of the Russian occupied territories to rise up and declare their freedom from oppression.
We’ve seen this show before. Russia over extends themselves in a dick measuring contest with the US, then end up having breakaway states they cant control. This is why “USSR” is no longer a thing.
Aleppo is one of the longest continually inhabited spots on the planet. The archaeological record goes back 8,000+ years in that city. It's a damn fucking shame to blow the residents and our human history to smithereens there.
As far as i can tell he is not in Russia . If i had to guess its Jihadists propaganda to lower SAA moral in the past 2 days of the offensive. If he is in Russia its either standard diplomatic stuff or his wife has cancer so maybe treatment? But id put my money on him being in Damascus right now.
A distraction, set up by Russia, now that Israel seems to be settling down.
My question- is the new boss of Aleppo any better than the old boss? Worse, and worser, in my estimation.
The Syrian army announced on Friday that it had repelled a major offensive on the city. “Our forces continue to repel the major offensive launched by armed terrorist groups,” the army said in a statement, adding that it was “able to retake control of certain positions”.
Assad is a reprehensible monster and I won’t shed a tear if he falls. The question is, who are the rebels and are they an improvement or just another form of monster?
Jon, this collapse of Syrian forces will more than likely accelerate given that Russia no longer has the means to continue supporting Assad militarily.
Also wondering how Israel’s depletion of Hezbollah helped this effort. Hezbollah had been used by Assad to brutalize Syrians. Now they’re essentially leaderless.
Syria is the nation, due to autocrat Assad’s religious based assaults on millions of people who called Syria home, where the mass migrations began that led to Brexit.
The US was a larger cause than most people care to understand.
Our government aided assad.
Russia and Iran support Assad as does Tulsi Gabbard. Meaning that Trump supports Russia Iran and Assad and of course Hezbollah and Hamas in their war against Israel. So…whose side are we on again?
While we’re waiting for this fix, can you square that circle I showed for me? Whose side are we on? Russia or Israel? We know Trump sides with Putin, and he supports Hamas and Assad, so how does that show support for Israel? You can’t have it both ways. It’s an obvious contradiction.
Russia is weak right now, and they can't stop it. Imagine if Ukraine defeated Russia—what would that mean for the world? Unfortunately, with the incoming Trump administration, Russia will most likely regain the land they took from Ukraine.
Their army and economy will be rebuilt, preparing them for the next takeover. Most likely, the next Democratic president (if we have one again) will have to deal with it
Well, clearly we’re on the side of Assad now and that means Russia and Iran and Hezbollah and Hamas. And they all hate Israel. So…whose side are we on today? Hard to keep track. Obviously we’re no longer going to back Ukraine. So we’re becoming our own enemy. He is us.
Syrian rebels know that russia is weak as fuck right now... But dumb media, twitter and paid off journalists and podcasters like rogan will still scare us into believing that russia is able to take on NATO...
I detest the Assad regime and they deserve to be overthrown. But Aleppo has seen so much fighting and I fear for the civilians caught in the middle - because Assad will stop at NOTHING to regain control of Aleppo, up to and including chemical weapons, starvation, bombing hospitals and schools etc.
Okay, so far, Twitter still leads with this kind of breaking news. Does Bluesky have any #? Do I not know where to find them? If so, help me find the Aleppo news here?
Ukraine flag, of course. $300 billion of my tax dollars to a war that is none of our business other than the fact that we started it by encroaching on Russia's territory after they warned us not to. Remember Russia Cuban middle crisis? We did the same thing but it was ok for us only?
Haha, with Russia distracted and busy with their own war, they don't have time or resources to protect assad from retaliation for his slaughter of civilians.
Assad is not going to be able to rely on putin to get out of this
Putin is heavily taxed elsewhere and the ruble is collapsing.
Syria will be a non issue for putin soon, syria will finally rid itself of assad.
Too bad we have an ignorant traitor coming in, we could have done much to advantage this.
Thanks to Ukrainian magic, all Russian activities elsewhere come to a stop. So many opportunities when RFs area of influence dies a painful and horribly slow death.
it is the time for revolution. I'm so happy for them I can't wait to see and hear about the same things going on around the world. we r in a new era and I'm so for it!

When a "news" source no longer provides factual information, it's time to get a new news source.
Troubling.
Are these Islamists taking over?
"In a video geolocated by CNN, a rebel fighter films as he drives through the deserted streets on the western side of the city."
