This morning people began queuing again before 7am to get on the books.

They are paid to hit govt targets, not for the health improvements they secure, the time they spend or the costs they incur.
A decade and a 1/2 of austerity means many are now delivering NHS care at a loss. It’s fuelling an exodus.
And it effectively penalises dentists treating higher need patients, who need and deserve more time in the chair.
We need a system that values prevention, that can actually meet the needs of the patients who need the service most.
That’s unique in NHS. It has not kept pace with inflation or population growth.
By hiking charges govt is paying less while patients pay more.
We need sustainable funding, that doesn’t hit those on modest incomes.
