After 5pm, CA mostly relies on imports and natural gas for electricity.

I think increasing battery storage is now much more important than increasing the amount solar generation.

California is investing in battery storage. It's around 14,000 mega watt. Which can power roughly 7,000,000 homes

No. Texas is nearing 30% of its electricity from renewables and about 10% from nuclear.

Of course, energy is a larger category than only electricity.

You are right. I was thinking of Oklahoma which I believe still has a higher percentage than CA from renewables. Even so, there are other states who get a lot more from renewables. I thought I saw somewhere than Vermont is nearly all renewable
