American society has become a hallucinatory bubble, because our knowledge of almost everything is secondhand and delivered through media, and now many of us spend many hours a day hooked into media systems that deliver information only based on what goes viral (mostly by making us mad)

We’ve all become desensitized, but it’s amazing how at this point the Trump campaign rests entirely on denouncing things that aren’t happening — a imaginary bad economy, imaginary runaway crime and now an imaginary failure of Biden and Harris to respond to natural disaster
