Here in Minnesota it’s been torture to see close up. Paralyzed stasis, everyone acknowledges a nightmare is coming, but no one seems to want to move or react or even raise their voice in any substantial way. In a blue state! Of course we keep getting clobbered: it’s dynamism versus timidity

As a fellow Minnesotan, I'd draw the opposite lesson: after emmer barely lost in 2010, the GOP went absolutely batshit and Dems presented themselves as sensible and responsible. That's worked out pretty damn well in this state!

It’s frustrating. A true public servant who’s been in congress for decades would self assess, realize that there are others who would be more effective at this moment. Retire, advise on the side, join a benevolent lobbying org, let others take lead on Hill.They aren’t equipped for this environment.
