I’m actually kind of scared about Severance season 2, because the first season is a strong contender for best TV show of all time and I’m incredibly nervous they’ll screw it up

I know this is a pretty common anxiety for TV we love, but when we have proven teams behind successful first seasons like these, I think we should feel pretty confident they will continue to do good work.
I have confidence in Gilroy. So far he’s been the only consistent Star Wars creator in the Disney era. It doesn’t hurt that it’s personally some of the best Star Wars of any era.
The podcast is soooooooooooo good! Cannot wait for season 2, but it is a lot like having one child and being scared you won’t be able to love the second one like you do the first. What a masterpiece.
'Serverance' is so well thought out, it is disappointing to find niggling issues, like the hallway excursions not being mapped out by the producers, but rather just random twists and turns.
I had the exact same thought today. We’ve waited so long that there is no way it can live up to my expectations. Unless Dylan does muscle shows, Irving and Burt fall in love and live happily ever after, and we finally learn what’s for dinner, I’m never going to be satisfied. IYKYK
Andor clears. Same concerns for season 2 of Andor. Or that Disney will scrap it in fear of political consequences because it's so explicitly anti-fascist.
This is exactly how I feel. I just finished my 10th rewatch yesterday and I’m so nervous that season 2 can’t possibly live up to how incredible the first season was.. Yellowjackets was similar with how it had first season Lost vibes but the second season was a letdown so I’m nervous
It’s sort of a miracle show so far, where somehow the sci-fi metaphysical stuff, the workplace comedy absurdism, the slow-build drama, and the extremely detailed and coherent world building all bolster each other instead of getting in each other’s way. The ending is still edge-of-seat thrilling too
While watching the season 1 finale my wife suddenly said, “Pause it.” I did, thinking she missed something or had a question. Nope, she was so tense she needed to know how much time was left in the episode (the answer was 2 minutes).
The long delay and rumours of creative issues behind the scenes add to the worry! But I’ve watched the season 2 trailer about 20 times! The tension and overall execution of the finale was incredible.
I liked Season 1 but at the end of it, isn't the premise just that they're torturing people? Kind of how I liked Squid Games Season 1 but at the end of it, it was like "wait is this show just about shooting poor people after all?"
I’m worried they’re gonna use “so-and-so is a severed employee” the same way the BSG reboot used “so-and-so is a secret Cylon”: a get out of jail free card when they run out of ideas.
Guys, Will is right. And the secret to ensuring it's the best show of all is to pretend it was a limited, one-off series without additional seasons, or simply dying before they air.
