From the outside, Grassley and Ernst's Inspectors General caucus or whatever is more resistance than the Dems have offered. I know Dems are electing a new leader, and it's only Week 2, but did the Dems REALLY not have a plan b??
What is the "Plan B" for being a minority party, but still being expected to stop bad things the majority can do entirely on its own?
Grassley & Ernst can oppose more effectively at this stage because Trump needs their votes.
The only way nominations can be blocked is by persuading some Republicans to join Democrats in opposing them. That's a really hard task and one likely not best done by calling Republicans Nazis and declaring blanket opposition to every vote.
Blanket opposition should be the strategy. None of them are worthy of the job. This is our last chance before Trump takes away the chance for the minority to be heard.
The plan should NOT be "well, we can't stop this on our own, so may as well vote for some of it too."
You can't run on being the group standing against the destruction of democratic norms, then turn around and start voting with the destroyers and expect to get cheered for it.

They don’t. They don’t have to.
That is NOT a reason to make gestures of bipartisanship toward them. They perceive your willingness to cooperate as weakness.
