This is also not an unreasonable response from voters. They have stuff going on. They rely on their elected officials who do this full-time to provide them with context when things happen. When Democrats do nothing and treat is as normal it's completely reasonable for voters to respond accordingly.

I'm 100% seeing Dems calling out the illegality and unconstitutionality and sheer dangerousness of Musk/Doge. The media isn't amplifying it, but Dems are absolutely saying it. Maybe spend more time amplifying the messages you want to see instead of tearing down Dems?

The GOP doesn’t depend on their elected members to do that though, they have an entire media apparatus that is in lock step. Dems need to build that, though I’m not sure we can because we aren’t all bandwagon riding toadies without independent thoughts.

Dems need to attack media outlets directly and say they have done a bad job. One example is their failure to cover project 2025 and give Trump the benefit of the doubt that he did not want it. Say the media were willing to cover it that way because it helped with a horse race.
