i am quite sympathetic to the "abundance agenda" — we are a wealthy country! — but if the goal is to reshape the political order than i think its advocates need a vision for the constitutional order as well as a vision for public policy (cont.)

The abundance messaging is a necessary pushback to the degrowth environmentalism that came out of the new left.
Restrictions were critical when the fight was pollution. But reducing carbon means building.
They'll just buy all of those up too.
Overt supply restrictions (e.g single-family zoning) are a landlord's best friend, not enemy.
Housing should belong to communities. Housing should be owned by the families that intend to live in them.
Not people seeking checks and stock points.
