I live in Owen J Roberts in Chester County which has seen some brutal races the past few cycles. Dems control the board now, with 4 (of 9) seats up this year. GOP didn't file any candidates, so I'll be looking for their write-ins, if any, to see if they can make the November ballot

I believe we do. A huge indicator of how important these elections are is the appointment and election of this guy - Bill Formica to our Souderton Area School Board. Turns my stomach.

We were able to keep the book banners at bay during my county’s last school board elections, but finding information about who’s running and what they stand for is very difficult. I ask a board member who I trust for his recommendations to help me decide.

I’m on the ballot, in Daniel Boone Area School District, in Berks County! Due to some terms ending and resignations, 7 of our 9 seats are on the ballot this year. Ghost (my campaign manager, pictured in my profile) says vote for Julia Olafson. 😀

One suggestion as someone who lives in nearby NJ: The Bucks County school board race. The county has the *largest* moms for liberty chapter & they’re gunning to retake the board after getting swept in 2023. Before they lost their majority, they passed anti-gay, anti trans, book banning measures etc

But the thing is that there isn't one Bucks County School Board race. Pennsylvania has 500 school districts. Bucks County has 13 of them.

There are about 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ school districts across the Commonwealth

School board candidates cross-file, like judge candidates, which means some could get knocked out this spring

And there are definitely many races across PA with no Democratic candidate

If you have a robust local protest group, you can absolutely run a write-in campaign. Turnout for these primaries is teensy tiny.

I am on the ballot next month! Running for Mayor in Bridgeport, PA. No primary opponent, though.

Our local school board candidates are basically unopposed.
