I was cross-posting on Bluesky, X and Threads via Buffer for the past month. Now, the fielss I follow have moved here.

Threads = Fit pics.
X = Noname politico bots.

Bluesky is made up of actual people.

I didn't plan to post over there but as I needed to challenge the inadequate Children's Social Care policy announced today I had to post on there as no sign of the Education Secretary on here yet. Much prefer the user experience on here though.

Deactivated X last week. Been on bluesky for a year but only reopened a few days ago. X felt like it was circling the drain. And what a drain. Have a lurker account to open X posts by politicians etc mentioned in Cz media, but not v often. X ceased to be a major news resource for me a while ago.

I'm only posting here now and monitoring X for work purposes as it still has more news sources. I find engagement here is definitely better than X - I'm getting more likes with fewer followers on Bluesky.

I'm still popping in there for work-related reasons (it's a big corpus/archive), but it's got no utility as a social media site any more. Almost everyone I follow there has a presence here, I'm following a LOT more people here anyway and it's possible to read replies without needing a shower after.

I don't think there's a pattern - it's more accidental. If I find a colleague or ex-colleague on the butterfly app, I'll reply to them there. If they're still with the ex-bird (as it were), I'll post there instead.

I’m finding blue sky much more vibrant than threads which I’ve been on since launch but never really got much traction on anything. Silly petty rude arguments are also happening on threads which makes it more like the old place I left behind.

I haven't been on X for a week. I plan to delete my account in the New Year because I follow many accounts that showcase old homes, castles, and other beautiful places. I enjoy seeing photos of how they decorate for Christmas.

I am primarily here. My account on X is gone and I didn’t bother to save the 16 years I was there.

I only post on Threads to remind people there that I am here. I hate that place.

And am on FB still but mainly for family and local stuff that is exclusively there.
