Anyone who signs the motion is absolutely going to be a pariah, definitely going to have to face at least one irate federal judge, and very likely going to need to retain counsel for disciplinary proceedings. At best.

And anyone in a position to sign is in a position to quickly find new employment.

I think we need to consider whether that even matters under an administration which fundamentally does not care about legality, only about getting what they want regardless, in a system which is apparently either powerless or unwilling to push back against them.

I’d agree with your husband on this. In 2026, all House seats are up for reelection. Also in 2026, about 1/3 of all Senate seats are up for reelection.
I’m believing that both houses will tip Blue. If the Senate, loses all Red Seats to Blue Seats, a full impeachment (including removal) is possible.
