Alright Chippy, now that you're here get someone to create a feed that specifically curates posts from all of your party members
They all need to be signed up to the platform first, and can be created through the Bluesky feeds builder where you can designate which users are included in the list 👏👏👏
@chrishipkins.bsky.social would advise whoever is running the party account to be the one to set up the feed through that accounts login and pin a link to the feed at the top of their profile
If you are wondering why the polls for Nats/Act/NZF have not changed in spite of their poor performance then you need to discover the Thiel database with 5000 data points on NZ voters. This database is going to be used again in 18 months to keep them in power. https://www.youtube.com/live/WcxjsWnHtk4?si=l0iedBTTF19Vvx_p
@chrishipkins.bsky.social I’ve been in Australia one week after exiting the beleaguered NZ public health service. In that week I’ve heard on repeat how the Australian government is investing in Medicare to make sure citizens have access to care. I’m gutted the current nz mob are in opposite land.
It is possible to point out National's broken promises without making tax seem like a bad thing - which just lets the landlords win whether or not National does. Hmmm. maybe that's Labour's 4-d chess move actually.
It’s not about taxes being a bad thing, it’s about National always crying about taxes whenever Labour considers tax changes. It’s all about the hypocrisy
Yep!
If you’re going to campaign based on something as black and white as taxes - if you say no new taxes and then do a new tax, you should get an automatic black mark, or demerit, or whatever. Something that’s considered by all to be the Kryptonite you don’t want with you going into the next cycle.
Make noise!!! What is on your "First 100 day plan" to overturn.
Tell the world Key\English doubled the foreign debt. While you guys increased it my only a third. We need "Tax Reform". Lower taxes on the poors, higher on the rich. Drop GST to 10%. Come on make noise!!!
Closing tax-loopholes for business-like charities and congestion pricing. Not that bad in my opinion, Labour probably are just saying that it goes against National's brand
Closing tax loopholes for "charities" and "churches", like Sanitarium and the various mega churches, that let's be honest, are a profiteering money grabbing businesses hiding behind their status more than anything else, would be the first good thing she's done.
The jury is still out, for me, on congestion charging. The idea is good, but so far, from what I've seen of Simeon's plan is a disaster and will achieve nothing.
I think that congestion/road pricing is fundamentally a good idea, but ultimately these taxes fund specific things, and I can probably agree with you that the things Simeon is looking to fund at the moment probably aren't the best investments to make
I have a fundamental issue with Where the proposals plan to out the charges. They're not areas where its congested, that happens much further up the motorway. But he's a moron, so 🤷
But who caused the congestion? poor planning, poor public transport that is reliable, allowing urban spread, poor placing of industrial complexes.?? Inability of industry and commerce to allow glide time? Poor provision to provide bypassing cities, forcing through traffic to enter the CBD???
That's one of the issues I have with it, yes. I have an issue when they throw it in the middle of a suburban area where there isn't really an alternative.
I'm all for things like this to incentivise behaviorial change, but there has to be a viable and reliable alternative. Currently there isn't.
The theory goes that carbon and road-based taxes are purer solutions than fuel taxes and RUCs for incentivizing cleaner traffic and emissions. Again, it's just about what other changes ensue; is the revenue redistributed to people? Used to cut other road taxes? Funding other means of travel? etc
You need to up your game on legalising cannabis. I heard you last night. Decriminalisation will discriminate again certain populations and does not address the blackmarket or the potential tax revenue. There's a backlash against MC happening right now. Get with the rest of the world
Don’t say sneaky taxes. Nothing wrong with increasing tax if they also then increase government spending in the right areas. But they won’t. We need labour to do both whenever you get back in.
But let’s be fair and reasonable:
1. Labour should be transparent about any new taxes being considered.
2. If National tries to play the “but no new taxes” card again, they should get booed off the stage, out of the building, out of the city, ….
Nah, f it
Labour should follow the evidence around taxation. They've played this game now for years of being frightened of their own shadows around appropriate taxation because of billionaire propaganda while National load costs onto the poor & gift $ to their "donors"
@chrishipkins.bsky.social does labour not support congestion pricing and including more business-like charities in the tax system, or is it more that you believe those things go against National's principles/rhetoric/promises?
Meanwhile all the luxflakes can do is run Labour down, and have it allowed without any resistance from media, as he passes how its stated by labour to be the reason they are failures with a capital F*. Take a leaf from the trumpers book and only half say a sentence, leave the conclusion for the ears

This was pretty much their only "green" policy. Anyone who knows about EVs knew it was horseshit
