My (cynical?) guess is it's due to (legitimate) concerns about worse AQ & noise, effects on local roads etc., loss of local housing etc., not worries about #ClimateCrisis (which is far more important).
Yes to be fair he has been a long-standing campaigner against Heathrow Expansion (before he took a bizarre turn against evidence-based policy making & into the rabbit hole of grievance and division)
I think a lot of his objections to LTNs follow v similar arguments as the battle against concentrated flightpaths, which he had been v involved in. There are some superficial similarities but evidence on impacts/harms is totally different, which he seems to have ignored for ‘spread harm’ consistency
I have a feeling that a certain soi disant social environmental group will not be concerned with either the noise or pollution generated by another run way.
Instead, they'll be too busy complaining about cyclists.
