unfortunately for me, a shitton of my stories were written using google docs, and I made the truly unfortunate discovery that google docs is a pile of ass in a way that ruins exporting stuff specifically.

gdocs are basically secretly HTML, and every single comment anybody has ever left creates a new page element. And there is no way to delete comments, only "close" them, which puts them out of view, but internally, they *still* exist and *still* mess with the internal structure of the document.

So after years of using gdocs and always leaving comments open for betareaders to livereact and give feedback; basically every single one of my stories is in an unexportable state unless I'm willing to put in a *ton* of work to manually fix each of them.

I'd have better luck archiving from their scribblehub or Ao3 uploads than from their original gdoc document. It's that bad. If you're in the same situation as me, consider this your warning call.
