BREAKING: Amazon is closing its facilities in Quebec and cutting more than 1,700 jobs.
The moves comes after workers in Quebec successfully formed the first Canadian union at the company last year.
The workers were expecting Amazon to make a contract offer this month.

it's incredibly easy to not use it, there are almost always similar alternatives
the Canadian government should punish the company for this
municipalities and provincial governments could definitely take action via permitting and enforcement of labor laws though

Make no mistake, we're not on the verge of a war.
The war is already here.
Resist.
But when there's 1 facility left, will they close that one too, because they hate not being fully in control? Or will they allow it to exist, even if it means paying more in wages?
How many facilities do they want to keep?

Quebec can finally do something for its own needs.

The only effective tool is if 🇨🇦ians ❌their Prime accounts and online shopping as a whole

The govt can cease property of corporations who attempt to use their influence to flout the law.
They won't, but they can.
Like always, companies are doing it in a way that isn't technically regulated yet.
If they admitted their intentions, this would be overtly against the law, both in the US and Canada.
Their intention is pretty clear though. This (firing organizers) happens regularly.
